Addiction Can Taste Like Warm Milk

Addiction can often be a very lonely and dark struggle that, sometimes, not even the closest of friends may know about. At The Anchor Christian Church, we believe that living life in community is a very important part of the Christian life.

We encourage everyone who attends The Anchor to be part of Small Groups. Small Groups provide community so that we no longer have to live life alone! If you struggle with addiction just know one thing...YOU ARE NOT ALONE! In fact, addiction is so common that the Addison Police Department and DuPage High School District 88 are going to be hosting a Heroin Awareness Night on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 7:00PM at the Addison Trail High School Auditorium. This event will focus on the dangers of heroin but also teach how to support those who may struggle with any addiction. Parents and students, grades 6-12 are encouraged to attend.

At The Anchor Christian Church, we want you to "come as you are...but not stay where you're at." We understand everyone is at a different place on their spiritual journey. If you're new to The Anchor check out The Anchor Guide, attend our next Worship Gathering and join us at our next Event! We also have AnchorTeens, a youth group for teenagers in grades 6-12, every Sunday directly following our Worship Gathering. Church can be different. Church should be different. It's made up of you and me! Hope to see you soon at The Anchor Christian Church in Bensenville, IL!

Have you, or someone you know, been affected by addictions? We would love to hear your story and pray for all involved. Do you know of other great resources, programs, events, organizations, etc.? Please share with us in the comments below!
