A message from Lance Hurley
For the past couple of weeks, Darla and I have been watching a real life show called "Save My Life". This show details "typical" days in the lives of Boston paramedics and emergency room doctors as they respond to all kinds of different situations. We are all familiar with people who are first responders: police officers, fire fighters and paramedics. These people approach challenging situations by running toward the challenge.
There are certain traits that mark people as followers of Jesus. One of these key markers is compassion. This Sunday, we are going to examine this trait and see what Jesus expects from us as we follow. One verse to think about forSunday, "When Jesus saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." (Matthew 9: 36)
We are never more like Jesus than when we exercise compassion. I'm looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.
