A message from Thomas Paukovitz
Abigail is at a fun age where she loves to read. She goes in her room, picks out a book, brings it either to Amanda or I, and demands we read it to her. Once we go through the book, she will start yelling "Again! Again!" Sometimes I will have to read the same book 5 or 6 times before she feels like it is enough. If anyone needs someone to recite Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See? by heart, I am your guy. She is just so interested in wanting to understand what is on the pages, and to learn more, that she won't stop reading. I hope this is something she never grows out of, for as my old English teacher used to say "Readers are leaders." What really gets me confused, however, is how Abigail can be entertained by a simple book like Snuggle Puppy or Chicago Baby for almost an hour, yet I struggle to read God's Word for more than 15 minutes at a time. Shouldn't I be just as excited to dive into God's Word that Abigail is to learn about a giraffe named Gerald? This week we are going to talk about studying God's Word, how it benefits us, and what we can do to help ourselves get the most out of the time studying the Bible. Don't forget the amazing cook-out afterwards as well! I will see you all there, most likely with a book for Abigail.
